Hi, we are going to Disney in just a few short weeks. We are staying at the Grand Floridian. I booked a dinner reservation for Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs. I'm wondering how to get over there and if it is too far?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, David!

You and your family are going to Walt Disney World in just a few short weeks, and that is music to my ears! And the pixie dust on top is that you’re staying at one of my very favorite resorts – I’ve stayed at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa twice, and both times have been dream-come-true vacations. I’m so excited for you!

Getting to Disney Springs from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a breeze, David. Walt Disney World Bus Service will take you from the front of your hotel to Disney Springs; buses run approximately every 20 minutes, and travel time is about 15-20 minutes. Planet Hollywood is a short walk from the bus area; check a map of Disney Springs so you have a sense of where you’re going when you get off the bus.

If you want to travel in adorable and whimsical style, you might want to consider a Minnie Van ride from your resort to Disney Springs. These polka-dotted vehicles are Disney owned and operated, and you use the Lyft app to request a ride, which you pay for right in the app. My family took a Minnie Van on our recent visit, and my kids felt like celebrities in their Minnie-themed car. We also had a great chat with the Cast Member driving us – she told some great stories about her encounters with Disney characters over the years.

David, I definitely don’t think Disney Springs is too far, and it’s a great spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment. If you want to wander a little after your meal (I’m always SO FULL after a Disney dinner), I recommend a stroll by the water. I’ve heard all kinds of musicians, watched street artists, and always enjoy browsing the unique and Disney-themed shops. You can even get Disney latte art at the Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company location!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
