Hi, Dorothy! Welcome to planDisney.
Ever since my very first trip to
Walt Disney World Resort, I've always had a soft spot for those old FastPass days. I remember
running walking at a brisk pace through the parks with slips in hand—it was such a thrill! But times change, and the way Disney handles ride reservations has evolved quite a bit since then. If you've been holding on to Disney FastPass+ cards or paper FastPasses then you have some great pieces of Disney history.
Unfortunately, FastPass+ is no longer used at Walt Disney World, and the old paper FastPass cards and machines have been retired for good. Walt Disney World replaced FastPass+ first with the Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane system, and then again with the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass options that, once purchased, let you reserve ride access ahead of time through the My Disney Experience app. That means those FastPass+ cards you have can't be used for ride reservations in the parks anymore. They're great keepsakes, but they won't get you into Lightning Lanes today.
I'm sorry, Dorothy. I know that's not the answer you're wanting to hear. I recommend getting familiar with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass system before your next visit. It will save you time and make your park days feel more magical. Think of those old FastPass+ memories fondly, but embrace the new tools in the
My Disney Experience app. It's the best way to spend less time waiting and more time experiencing the magic!
