Ahoy Jeff!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR that you'll be sailing on the
Disney Fantasy with your family. There's going to be so many amazing activities onboard, and I hope that you all plan on making many magical memories together.
Your 11-year-old is in the prime spot for enjoying not one, not two, but THREE youth clubs while onboard! The
Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab is geared for ages 3-12; meanwhile,
Edge caters to the tween set from 11 to 14 years old. I remember how much fun my son had at that age in having so many choices in where he could hang out on the ship. He liked the older crowd at Edge, but he also preferred some of the art and games in Oceaneer Club.
If your tween is a fan of Star Wars or Marvel, then my hunch is that a lot of time will be spent in the Oceaneer Club. Young Jedis can channel the Force in the Star Wars: Command Post. Activities include learning to pilot an X-Wing, using an interactive “holotable” and choosing their vehicle or droid companions for their missions, and facing off with Stormtroopers.
The Oceaneer Club on the Disney Fantasy also has a MARVEL Super Hero Academy with interactive mystic arts portal and cool gaming opportunities. There may even be appearances by Doctor Strange and Thor just to name a few of the Avengers! My teenage Marvel fan would love to be able to use the Time Stone that Dr. Strange protects to go back in time and play in this fun area!
Entertainment and events are subject to change, so be sure to use your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to manage all of your plans!
Fly back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you've got more questions. We love planning, and as Captain America likes to say, we "can do this all day!" Wishing you a MARVELous voyage!
Happy Sailing!
