Hi there Christine, and welcome to planDisney!
The age requirements for the Youth Activities are strictly enforced for the safety of the young Guests. Your son will need to go to
Disney's Oceaneer Club or
Oceaneer Lab, and his 11 year old sister can go to
Edge. They can spend time together in the same Youth Activities space during Open House. All Open House times will be available in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. There is usually an Open House on Embarkation Day so I encourage you and your family to check out the Youth Activities areas on that day.
Disney's Oceaneer Club has great interactive spaces with themes of some popular Disney movies such as Toy Story and the Star Wars franchise. The Youth Activities staff in Disney's Oceaneer Lab encourage young Guests to be creative by playing games and participating in guided activities such as science labs.
Christine, I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope your son will give Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab a chance. There are other daily activities that your family can experience together such as
character experiences,
deck parties, and live shows, such as
Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular.
The
Disney Fantasy is one of my favorite ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet because of the longer itineraries. If you have some time to experience the adult areas, I highly suggest you make a brunch or dinner reservation at
Palo for a unique Italian meal while you overlook the ocean. This does come at an additional cost. If you have any other questions as you prepare for your magical vacation, sail back to
planDisney.
Adventure is out there!
