Hi John!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about your upcoming Caribbean adventure aboard the beautiful Disney Fantasy! I hope you are preparing yourself for seven-nights of non-stop fun and adventure with some beautiful sites along the way!
When at port, it is ultimately up to the discretion of the onboard Captain, the ships will usually dock portside. Depending on where the ship docks at the port in St. Thomas and Tortola will determine what the actual view is from on each side of the ship. If there are other cruise ships at the terminal, you could have views of those ships on one or both sides or if not, you could possibly have views of the ocean or town. When you dock at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, the ship almost always docks portside giving the starboard side a view of the island and the beautiful crystal-clear waters.
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite stops to make when cruising with Captain Mickey! My family loves starting our day out with the Castaway Cay 5K and then staking out a spot on the beach to spend the day. There are complimentary umbrellas and lounge chairs for Guests to use on the island and lots of fun activities throughout the day! We always look forward to the delicious barbeque lunch at Cookies BBQ and especially the extra-large chocolate chip cookies for dessert! Whether you choose to do any excursions during your day there or just lounge on the beach, you are definitely going to have a memorable day!
Wishing you a
FANTASTic adventure at sea! Please come back with any other planning questions you may have!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
