Hello Disney family, I would like to know if there will be any other bibs on sale for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January? I managed to buy a bib for the marathon, it's great but I would have loved to have had the Dopey Challenge.

Welcome to planDisney, Marjorie. And welcome to runDisney, the Most Magical Place to Race!

I am so excited you were able to register for the runDisney Marathon Weekend 2025. I ran what I thought would be my only marathon this past January. I had so much fun that I tried to register for the upcoming Goofy Race and a Half Challenge. I was able to get the Marathon with Mickey and Minnie and the Half Marathon with Donald and Daisy, but the Goofy Challenge sold out before I made it to the front of the queue. I know how you feel.

I am so glad you came to planDisney with this question, and I can share what I learned last week.

runDisney may have more bibs available for some events before the race. There is no announcement about these moments of availability because they go quickly, like the first day of registration. If you are lucky enough to find the Dopey Challenge open (not showing "Sold Out" on the Marathon events page), you can:

    1. Go to "Manage Account" at the bottom of rundisney.com and log into your account.
    2. Click on "My Registrations," then select “Edit Registration” next to your Marathon Registration.
    3. Under “Registration Options” in the bottom corner, pick “Switch Categories.” If the Dopey Challenge is available, it will show here.
    4. The system will provide you with the amount due, consisting of the price difference between your current and new registration and a transfer fee (which is currently $45 but is subject to change).
    5. After you have updated the necessary fields, select “Switch and Pay” to finalize your changes.

I know this is not frequent, so I am embracing running the two events and the possibility I won't get the extra challenge medal. As you said, the marathon is great! I love the course, running through the four theme parks. I love the characters on the route. I love the spectators cheering and the other runners who are in it mile after mile, propelling other runners forward. And the Mickey Ears at the Finish Line are my favorite ears ever.

I hope you can get in for the Dopey Challenge. In any case, I'll be cheering for you at the start of the marathon. We've got this!

Please come back to planDisney with any questions as you plan for your visit to Walt Disney World Resort and the runDisney weekend events.

    Every Mile is Magic!
