Welcome back to planDisney, Molly!
Thank you for visiting us again with another excellent question. We are thrilled to continue to help you plan pixie-dusted memories for your Walt Disney World Resort adventures!
Having a special breakfast with Disney pals is the best way to start your day at The Most Magical Place on Earth. My daughters are big fans of character dining, and this is our favorite way to meet and greet some of our beloved characters. The girls always bring their autograph books, and my camera is always ready to capture their sweet interactions with the characters.
My favorite restaurants to meet Mickey Mouse are not found inside the theme parks. I like to make reservations for character meals on our rest days when we do not have plans to visit the parks. I let my girls sleep in a little longer and book a late breakfast at a restaurant located at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
I highly recommend making reservations for Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends at
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. Besides Mickey Mouse, you will also have the chance to interact with Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck. The food is delicious, and there are great options for children. In my opinion, this is where you will find the best breakfast offerings considering all character dining locations. The last time we dined there, I made reservations for a late breakfast and ordered the Wood-fired Butcher's Steak, which was terrific. The Smoked Salmon and the Fruit Plate are also excellent. My girls love the Mickey Waffle Dippers. All entrées offer generous portions, and the fresh pastries and bread are delicious! The restaurant is inside Disney's Riviera Resort, allowing you to explore the Disney Skyliner before or after your meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and character interactions are always magical.
Another option is making breakfast reservations with the Fab Five at
Chef Mickey's. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto join Guests for an enchanting meal at this classic restaurant inside iconic Disney's Contemporary Resort. This dining destination offers a buffet meal with options that will also please everyone in your travel party. Chef Mickey's is a great option for an early breakfast on a day you plan to visit Magic Kingdom Park. After your meal, you walk or take the monorail to the park. I think
Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is also a great option, and the characters look charming wearing their safari best. Still, if you are a foodie like me, I highly recommend Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends at Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. Please note that all character appearances are subject to change without notice.
I hope this helps you while planning, Molly. Come back to visit us real soon if you have additional questions, and have a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Best Disney wishes,
Thiana
