Hello Riley!
Welcome back to
planDisney! Thanks for sending another excellent question our way. I'd be happy to help you navigate the soon-to-launch
Lightning Lane system. Let's get going!
With a check-in date of August 19, you can purchase Lightning Lane passes and begin making attraction selections starting at 7 AM on August 12. You will have the option to buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass and or Lightning Lane Single Pass at that time. The
My Disney Experience mobile app won't alert you on the day you're initially eligible to secure Lightning Lane passes, so I suggest setting a reminder on your mobile device if securing them right away is important to you. My family is interested in acquiring a few Lighting Lane Single Passes for our upcoming trip, so I have an alarm set to go off on my phone at 6:55 AM a week before we arrive. I'm excited to see how the new plan-ahead system will work!
I hope this is helpful, Riley, and that you have a wonderful time on your vacation. It's pretty warm in Orlando during Olaf's favorite season, so I recommend checking out
this recent Disney Parks Blog article featuring tips from my fellow panelists for staying cool in summer. My husband and I are teachers, and we have two school-age children, so we often visit Walt Disney World in August. A few of my must-pack items for summer include water bottles (we refill them in the parks with ice water from quick-service locations), disposable ponchos, and small umbrellas. Stay hydrated, enjoy indoor attractions during the hottest part of the day, and chill out at your resort pool when you need a break. I know it's hot, but I love the summer theme park vibes. It's great to see families having fun together before the school holidays end.
Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, and if there's anything else we can do to make your August adventure even more memorable, don't hesitate to reach out again.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
