Welcome to planDisney, Emmanuel!
Your destination will be worth the journey when you arrive at
Walt Disney World Resort in January. I encourage you to experience both of the nighttime spectaculars that debuted as part of The 50th Anniversary Celebration: Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park and Harmonious at EPCOT.
Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios reopens in November so I'm happy to say there are plenty of ways to put an exclamation point on your park days.
Valid admission, a theme park reservation for each park day, and a method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are currently required for theme park entry. Let me explain what I see under "Tickets and Passes" in the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom righthand corner of the app's homepage --> Tickets and Passes) in hopes that it will help explain what you see in yours.
At the top of each ticket, I see a color block with the name of the person the ticket is assigned to as well as the type of ticket. Underneath that color block is a barcode, which is for Cast Member use only. This barcode cannot currently be used to scan in at park entry. Below the barcode are the remaining days on each ticket as well as their expiration date. Underneath all of that information are icons for "Reassign Ticket" and "Add to Device." Whether or not these options appear live or grayed out depends on the ticket type as well as your relationship with the person each ticket is assigned to. Let's dig a little deeper.
The "Add to Device" icon takes me to the Disney MagicMobile page of the mobile app where I can download Disney MagicMobile passes to my digital wallet. These passes are one of the methods of entry that can be used to enter a theme park. The "Add to Device" icon is inactive for members of my Family and Friends List that have their own My Disney Experience accounts. The "Add to Device" icon is active for members of my Family and Friends List whose account profiles I manage.
To download a Disney MagicMobile pass, click "+" at the top right corner of the screen. On my iPhone, I can then select the individuals for whom I'd like to create a pass and click "Add to Apple Wallet." Once the digital passes are downloaded, I can hold up my iPhone near an access point at theme park entry and Lightning Lane entrances.
I hope this information unveils the mystery behind "Add to Device," Emmanuel. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any
follow-up questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
