Hi Kenneth!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Thank you for visiting us with such a good question. Coming from the UK, usually for 2-3 weeks every year, we always use a rental car when taking holidays at Walt Disney World, and enjoy the flexibility it gives us if we are visiting another Resort hotel in the evening for a dinner reservation or if we are park hopping. I totally understand your concerns regarding
parking fees at the Disney Resort hotels which were recently introduced to align with other Disney Resorts in Anaheim and Hawaii, and other hotels in the industry. If you are driving to your Disney Resort hotel, and parking overnight, the parking charge will apply to every vehicle. However, this fee varies according to the category of Resort hotel (for 2019, the overnight fee at a
Value Resort is $13, at a
Moderate Resort is $19, and at a
Deluxe Resort is $24 per night, and these fees are subject to change, and will increase for 2020). The only exceptions to this fee is if you are a member of the Disney Vacation Club, where there will be no charge for overnight parking if you are staying at a Disney Vacation Club Villa regardless of whether you are using points or another method of payment to stay there, or when using vacation points to stay at a Disney Resort hotel. Overnight self-parking is complimentary for Guests with disabilities.
It is also worth noting that self-parking at the Resort hotels remains complimentary if you are visiting for a meal or entertainment or other activities during the day, as long as you are not staying overnight, and all Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to receive complimentary parking at the four theme parks and two water parks throughout your stay.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World, and keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on events that may be happening while you are there.
