Jessica from MD Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

With Disney ending the complimentary magic bands in 2021, will Disney be offering more Apple Watch Aps for My Disney Experience to use in the parks: dining reservations/fast passes/payments/room key?

    Welcome BACK, Jessica!

It's so good to see you again, and thank you so much for asking us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question!

One of the many things that Walt Disney loved was future technology, and luckily for us there is an entire team behind the scenes working on ways to keep Disney's parks innovative and connected. While complimentary MagicBands are being phased out, the technology that supports them will still be around, which is great if you already have a band from a previous visit or if only a few in your party want one. At this time there isn't any word if more apps will be available for non-phone electronics. A good place to find out the newest news from Mickey himself is the Disney Parks Blog; definitely 'like' and 'follow' them across all of your social media channels so you won't miss a single story or update. And also check out this Restaurant Reopening and Updated Dining information that encourages guests to use cashless payment options when possible which does give me hope that new options are in the works.

Something that I can share is that the My Disney Experience App now accepts Disney Gift Cards and Apple Pay for Mobile Food and Beverage Orders. You'll also be able to check-in for Table-Service dining reservations on the app as well, so make sure to download the update! Electronic Disney Gift Cards can already be scanned from your phone at most retail locations. And the My Disney Experience App can also serve as your Disney Resort Hotel room key just like a MagicBand or complimentary Admission Card!

I hope this helped to better plan your Disney Days, Jessica. And if you have any more Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
