I will be in Disney at the end of the month and since I’m from Canada I will need a PCR test to travel back home. What are the best clinics around WDW resorts that offer PCR tests? Thank you :)

Hello, Annie and welcome to planDisney with this excellent question regarding Covid-19 PCR Testing for returning to Canada.

I, as a fellow Canadian, having recently traveled to Walt Disney World Resort, can share my experiences to help you decide what is best for you.

Firstly, there are many providers near Walt Disney World Resort, even on the property, namely at the Walt Disney World Maingate Complex, but I was discouraged by the reportedly excessively long waits for testing. Some facilities will send someone to administer the test at the hotel, but I saw that these fees are exorbitant. As well, there are many pharmacies and clinics that offer onsite testing. I considered all of these carefully, and I decided to book through the reliable, in my opinion, AdventHealth, because they are who present the First Aid stations at Walt Disney World Resort.

Annie, I booked my appointment at Orlando International Airport through the AdventHealth website well in advance of my arrival to Orlando, to align with the rules set forth at the time by the Canadian government for my return home via an aircraft. The booking process was simple and they did not require payment until my check-in for my PCR Test. I was asked to wait for approximately 30 minutes for my results, which they provided with a paper copy only. I did have to make my way to and from the airport, and I used a reliable rideshare service.

While looking through the AdventHealth booking site, I did see AdventHealth Centra Care Clinics closer to Walt Disney World Resort, namely near Disney Springs and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, if that is something that you would consider, but I stayed away from medical clinics for fear of exposure to anyone there seeking care for their potential virus.

Annie, in preparation for your Disney vacation, please refer to our Know Before You Go guide, and please familiarize yourself with our Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ service to maximize your theme park touring experience.

As well, please ensure that you have your Disney Park Pass reservations in place, with valid theme park admission as soon as possible. And lastly don’t forget to download your ArriveCAN app to expedite your return to Canada.

It was my pleasure assisting you Annie, and I look forward to helping you in the near future. Have a most magical Disney vacation!

    Best Disney Wishes ~ Jacqueline
