Gelli from NJ Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello. We are going to Disney by the end of this month. However, because of the rising number of cases in Florida, we are now worried and discussing about cancelling our trip. How can we do that?

Hi there, Gelli! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for your visit.

I am so sorry that the unprecedented situation surrounding the pandemic has made you have to reconsider your travel plans. You are not alone, as I am sure that many Guests have to go through a similar process. Luckily, modifying a Walt Disney World vacation has always been fairly straightforward, and now is no exception!

The way to make modifications or cancellations is to contact Disney Reservations via phone as soon as possible. Let them know that you would like to modify your reservation, and they will help you make this happen! The sooner, the better, of course, as you may be subject to fees as your vacation dates draw nearer. For example, changes made within 30 days of arrival may incur a $50 change fee per package, and changes made within 14 days of arrival may incur an additional $15 processing fee. However, in most cases, you will receive a refund of your deposit and any payments made so far and then be able to book a brand new reservation to replace the prior one!

Gelli, I hope that this information helps you feel at ease and make the changes you need to to feel safe and comfortable in your vacation plans. That Disney magic we know and love is there waiting for us, but thanks to lenient cancellation policies, we can choose to experience it when we are ready. Meanwhile, if you need any other assistance or want to check back in, please know that we are always here, ready to continue helping you plan and dream!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
