Can Disney e-gift cards be used at Disney World? If so, how?

    Hi, Baryssa! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh my Mickey ears, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation countdown has reached single digits! Can you believe it? You'll be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., before you know it!

While you're making those last-minute plans, it's smart to think about how you'll be spending your vacation dollars, and a Disney Gift Card is a really helpful tool for doing just that. Your eGift is redeemable at all locations at the Walt Disney World Resort that accept the physical Gift Card - which is just about everywhere! Some third-party shops and restaurants may not accept Disney Gift Cards, and many carts and kiosks won't be set up for them (although you can use them at the Global Marketplace food booths at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!).

When I've used eGifts in the past, there was a barcode in the email I received that could be scanned for payment. In that case, it's as simple as pulling out your phone and letting the Cast Member helping you do the rest! If for some reason you don't have a barcode, there should be a number that the Cast Member can enter manually. Either way, your eGift will work its magic in just the same way as a regular Gift Card.

If you have any other questions about using your Disney eGift, there's a Frequently Asked Questions page on the Disney Gift Card website that you may find helpful. You'll also find a contact form there for specific questions that aren't addressed in the FAQ. And of course, if you need any help at all with your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you can drop us a line here at planDisney. We're always ready to help!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
