Hiya, Jason!
Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by - or should I say hopping by - with your question. Our family has visited
Walt Disney World over Easter many times, and it is such a wonderful time to visit.
While we don't yet have the complete details for all of the Easter "hoppenings," typically, there are activities at each Resort. The Resorts tend to release their Easter activities list about a week before the holiday, so when you check in, be sure to ask for that updated list. Resort restaurants sometimes have special meals, and in years past, Resorts have had Easter Egg hunts, activities, movies, and more.
Now, in the theme parks, typically Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny have a meet and greet in Liberty Square Gazebo in Magic Kingdom Park during the week leading up to Easter, and usually, they will be in a special Easter parade. In EPCOT, you can participate in the Eggstravaganza egg hunt throughout the World Showcase. Stop by Creations Shop, Disney Traders, or World Traveler to purchase your map. The eggs are themed to many of Disney's characters, and they are so much fun to find in each of the countries. If you find all of the eggs, you can bring your completed map to one of the shops listed for a fun prize.
One of my favorite things to do is to see the elaborate chocolate Easter Egg displays at various Disney Resorts. The ones at the Grand Floridian are "eggcelent" and really something to behold. It's hard to believe they were created out of chocolate! While you are there, be sure to stop by the Grand Cottage in the main lobby. Similar to the Gingerbread House over the winter holiday, the Grand Floridian features a lifelike cottage that serves
delicious and festive offerings. Now, here's a tip for you, Jason. Typically, in the week leading up to Easter, many of the Disney Resort shops will sell Disney-themed Easter baskets. You can purchase one of the created ones or you can have them create one for you with items you purchase from the shop, like plushies, treats, etc. Now, I have seen these at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge shop and a few other hotels. They may not be available at all of the Resort shops, but check with the one at your Disney Resort hotel to see if it is offered. My kids loved waking up Easter morning to find that the Easter Bunny had visited them with gifts straight from Disney. We even brought some Easter eggs with us and did an egg hunt in our Disney Vacation Club Villa.
For the most up-to-date information about what is happening at Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to check out the
Disney Parks Blog. I hope this helps you, Jason! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, hippity-hop back here, and I'll be so "hoppy" to help you.
See ya real soon!
