Hi Angela,
My family spent Thanksgiving week at Walt Disney World last year, and we're already talking about where we want to eat during our Thanksgiving visit this year, so I'm happy to help you with suggestions.
You will be able to find turkey and dressing at almost every Walt Disney World restaurant on Thanksgiving Day, so it really comes down to what kind of dining experience you want: signature, family style, buffet or casual.
I responded to a similar question for another guest recently, so let me link you to
that detailed answer. We went with Boma last year and really enjoyed it. We're debating whether we want to make that our tradition or want to try something different for our Thanksgiving meal this year.
I can also tell you that several of the restaurants at Downtown Disney, including Raglan Road, Fulton's and Wolfgang Puck's Grand Cafe, last year offered prix fixe Thanksgiving meals. And many of the counter service restaurants had holiday specials.
So you have many choices. You are wise to explore your options now. Many of the prime spots, such as Liberty Tree Tavern and Artist Point, fill up quickly. I suggest coming up with your top three choices (in case your first choice is full) and making reservations as soon as possible.
Online reservations open at 6 a.m. Eastern time and the phone lines open at 7 a.m., 180 days in advance. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can make reservations for up to 10 days of your stay when you are 180 days from arrival.
I hope that helps. Please write back if I can offer specifics to help you narrow down your top picks. We've eaten at almost all of the restaurants on the Walt Disney World property and always have trouble choosing our favorites.
Enjoy!
Wilma
