Hi, We will be at Disney during RunDisney Springtime Surprise. Will this be an obstacle we will need to plan for (ex: delay in transportation) ? Will early entry and rope dropping be affected? Is there some park that we should avoid some specific day ?

Hello there, Stephanie! Thanks for running over to planDisney with your question.

I am happy to report that with four different runDisney race weekends throughout the calendar year, Walt Disney World runDisney events are well-coordinated and shouldn't have a noticeable impact on your trip. If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you will likely find posted information signs about the Springtime Surprise race weekend throughout your hotel. I like to snap a picture of these signs to refer to during my visit. When I was there for the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend in January 2024, there was also information provided on our TV directly in our room! Typically, transportation for runners and spectators begins as early as 3:00 AM and the race begins around 5:00 AM - well before most Guests are awake. Transportation to theme parks should occur at normal times for hotel and theme park guests.

Stephanie, I highly recommend rope-dropping your desired theme park on the day there are races, as the theme parks can get busier toward the middle of the day as runners head to the park to celebrate a successful race. You might also want to consider adding Individual Lightning Lanes or Genie+ to your theme park tickets if you are worried about wait times for your must-ride attractions. Be sure to check the Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app for park hours and Early Entry times for each day of your visit.

One last tip, Stephanie, I recommend making Advanced Dining Reservations for your visit! My must-stop dining location on every trip is also my planDisney bestie Susan's favorite - Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort. Their Kitchen Sink ice cream sundae is an experience in and of itself!

Happy planning, Stephanie. Please visit us again with any other questions!
