Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Misti!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney. How wonderful that you are taking advantage of the long Memorial Day holiday weekend to enjoy a little magic time.
Misti, it's hard to predict which parks are best on certain days. Anecdotally, however, I have observed that Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT tend to be busier on the weekends and on holidays. This is not scientific by any means, it is just my personal observation, as local visitors may wish to spend their weekends or holidays visiting the parks along with traveling Guests. However, it can depend on many factors, and truthfully, all of the parks can be busy over a holiday weekend.
That said, I regularly visit Walt Disney World Resort in March and April, and have even visited over Christmas, which tend to be busier times. With a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, and some advanced planning, you can have a very magical vacation at all times of the year.
I recommend to plan ahead. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, I would make a few key dining reservations 60 days out from your check-in date for the entirety of your stay (or 60 days from the day you wish to dine you are staying off-property.) You can do this right in the My Disney Experience app or by logging into your account. Our family loves Disney's Quick Service restaurants as well, so I would only do a few sit-down dining reservations and do Quick Service for other meals. They are convenient because you can order in advance right from the My Disney Experience app, while standing in line waiting for an attraction, and then let the app know when you arrive. This helps to maximize the magic of your day.
Second, I would consider purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and even the Lightning Lane Single Pass if it appeals to you for each park day. This ensures you will be able to enjoy a few key attractions on each of your park days. You won't be able to enjoy every attraction at every park, because there is so much magic to enjoy. But you will be able to enjoy many attractions and experiences with the help of the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. You can book up to three attractions beginning 7 days in advance of your check-in date for the entirety of your vacation if you are a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, and 3 days in advance of your park visit day if you are staying on property.
Next, I would recommend getting to the theme parks as early as possible. If you are a Guest staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can enter the theme parks 30 minutes prior to General Admission. This can help you get a head start on your day. If you are staying at one of the Deluxe Resort Hotels, you can check to see if they are offering
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, which is a benefit exclusive to these Guests at select parks on select dates.
Finally, I like to say that Disney is an
experience, not just a destination. To truly embrace the magic of a Disney vacation, remember it is being immersed in the magic from Disney Resort Hotel to the theme parks and everything along the way. Dining, attractions, shows, parades, Character interactions, transportation and simply being immersed in storytelling is the experience of Disney. With this in mind, you will have the most magical vacation on earth no matter which parks you visit on which days and no matter what time of year you visit.
I hope this helps you Misti! If you have any more questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be glad to help you!
Magically Yours,
Keri
