We are going on the disney dream 1/22/12. Is the party on board a "pirate and princess" party or just "pirate"?

    Ahoy LaNette!

The Pirates IN the Caribbean party is sooo awesome!  It starts off at your dinner with waiters in their themed pirate garb and lasts into the evening with an on deck party where Captain Hook and his band of pirates try to take over the ship!

On every Disney cruise that I have enjoyed there have been pirate boys, girls, moms, dads, even grandparents!  I've also seen a huge amount of princesses and pirate princesses running around either being chased by pirates or being saved by pirates.  It's a super fun and exciting evening and camaraderie abounds!  Guests compliment each other on their costumes, and share laughs all night long.  It truly is a ship-wide party with everyone participating.  I wish I could add the picture of my husband in his Jack Sparrow braids!  This occasion is what you want to make it!  So wear the princess costumes, add a sword (available at the gift shops) and eye patch, and yell "Arrrrr" as you run to the deck to enjoy Disney's own fireworks display!

I hope you have a magical sailing!  Bon Voyage!!!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
