I’m so excited that you have an upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation and that we get the chance to connect about the fabulous Drink of the Day souvenir cup opportunity onboard! Pull up a virtual deck chair, let’s stare at the turquoise sea together, and I’ll tell you all about one of my favorite cruising tips.
I’m happy to share that yes, the souvenir refillable Drink of the Day cups are still widely available on Disney ships. For the past few years, it has been a tall hurricane-style shaped cup with a punt in the base and not a stemmed bottom, making it sturdier on all surfaces of the moving ship. I always purchase one - they were available on the
Disney Dream last year as well as the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder this year. They are often filled with colorful tropical drinks sitting on beautiful trays offered by the wonderful crew to welcome you on deck for embarkation day, typically served near the Sail Away party time. You may purchase these souvenir cups anytime during your cruise (as supplies last) by inquiring with a bartender or deck attendant, but of course you can make the most of your purchase by taking advantage of the opportunity for more refills if you buy it early in your itinerary.
This souvenir cup allows you to receive a larger serving (about one third more, in liquid ounces) of the Drink of the Day than if you purchased it without the souvenir. The Drink of the Day is already a discounted cocktail price, the selection changes daily, and you can see the current beverage in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once onboard. If there’s one drink you particularly enjoy, I suggest taking a screenshot of the cocktail image as it will list the ingredients and a friendly bartender in your hometown can likely recreate the ratios to sip and remember your wonderful cruise once at home.
You can rinse out the cup in your stateroom sink, but as you present it for a refill you can also receive a fresh cup from the server throughout your sailing. You are welcome to bring the cup home; I have a whole collection of them now and use them to serve friends on my porch since their non-glass material is safe on deck and safe outdoors!
Here’s a fun insider tip, Jeanette – toss this cup into your beach bag for
Disney Castaway Cay. The bartenders and attentive beachside servers will honor this large pour of the Drink of the Day, such as the signature Konch Kooler. It’s pure tropical perfection on a warm beach day!
There is a similar offer for a souvenir kids' smoothie cup if you want to inquire about that onboard, too. It is also often offered during the Sail Away Celebration and enables you to receive larger smoothie refills than if purchased on its own. This has been a nice way for my tween to practice some independence with his new charging privileges onboard by purchasing smoothie refills for himself.
The Drink of the Day souvenir cup is like the Beer Mug Savings Package, except that the beer mug can be purchased prior to sailing through Onboard Gifts and Amenities and the Drink of the Day cup can be purchased once onboard. If anyone in your travel party is a beer fan,
