Going on Disney Dream in May, is there a good way to give my 8 & 10 yr olds a small amount of $ to use onboard? If all charges go on our Key to the World card, would Disney gift cards even work? Or is there a way to limit charging privileges? Thanks!

    Hi, Stacia!

Congratulations on your upcoming voyage aboard the new Disney Dream -- she is a stylish and oh-so spectacular ship!  After stepping off just days ago, I can proudly report that she is ready for you to sail!

I think giving your 8 and 10-year-old children Disney Gift Cards is a great way to give them a way to spend their vacation or souvenir allowance while on board. You can also allow them charging privileges with a limit on their stateroom cards, but I like the gift card idea best.  You can get the cards ahead of time and present them their cards in a special way! Plus, once they've been spent, you can toss them -- reinforcing the idea that once they've been spent, you're done, kiddos!

The children can purchase things such as merchandise in the gift shops, snacks or candy at the theaters, smoothies at counter service restaurants or treat mom to a spa treatment at Senses...oh, wait a minute.  I was dreaming again, wasn't I?!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
