We are going on the Disney Dream in July 2011. I have a 10 year old and would love to have an excellent excursion in Nassau. How do you decide between the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Experience and the Deep Water Atlantis Dolphin Swim with Atlantis Aquaventure?

    Hi, Julie!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise on board the beautiful Disney Dream -- you are in for a treat as you sail!

When you compare the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Experience to the Atlantis Dolphin Cay Deep Water Swim & Aquaventure, the first thing you'll notice is the difference in price. The reason for this is that the experience at the Atlantis Resort is much more than the dolphin encounter -- it also includes admission to The Dig (underground aquariums) , the outdoor marine habitats, the resort areas and the Aquaventure waterscape (an amazing waterpark). At Blue Lagoon, you do have the option to enjoy the beach after the first dolphin encounter of the day and take the later ferry back to the dock. Also, you'll notice that the Blue Lagoon experience is for ages 6+ and the Atlantis one is for 10+ -- meaning the experience at the Atlantis is a little more adventurous than the one at Blue Lagoon.

If you've never seen the Atlantis Resort, I recommend experiencing the deep water swim and Aquaventure.  Your son may have a hard time deciding which was more fun -- swimming with the dolphins or sliding through the shark tank at the Aquaventure!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
