We are going on the Disney Dream in April. We are first time cruisers. So excited!!! I know we can’t book experiences on the ship before our check in at 75 days. But is there somewhere we can see what’s going to be available before our booking day??

    Welcome aboard, Stacy!

I’m thrilled for you as I hear the excitement for your very first Disney Cruise Line vacation! There’s absolutely nothing like it, and I can’t wait for you to experience everything. My family sailed aboard the beautiful Disney Dream last April so I’m happy to help share some information and tips to make the most of your experience.

It’s a great idea to browse Port Adventures for your ports of call and onboard activities prior to that special milestone of 75 days before your cruise. I suggest reviewing the many options and having a favorite plus one or two back-up selections for the Port Adventures. Based on availability when you go to reserve them, you can quickly pivot to another choice if needed. If your favorites aren’t available, please don’t be discouraged. On embarkation day, you can either go to a designated location (find it in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app) or chat with the Guest Services team on the app to see about additional availability. Activities such as alcohol tastings, adult dining (brunch at Palo is my must-do), spa treatments, and even Port Adventures may offer some pixie dust for you with new openings.

Port Adventures can be found on the Disney Cruise Line website by navigating along the top menu bar to Destinations > Port Adventures > Caribbean > then filter the list on your specific Ports of Call. Be sure to expand the details of any Port Adventure to see the age restrictions, pricing, travel logistics, and activity level that's best for your family.

You’re in luck, Stacy because today Season 2 of our planDisney Podcast debuted with a fabulous episode all about First Time Cruisers! I hope you’ll check it out to hear some great panelist tips and details from the Disney Dream.

My best first-timer tip is to be sure you book a placeholder reservation in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for onboard-only savings on a future cruise. You don’t have to select a date or itinerary, and the offer is good for two years from this sailing.

Please bring any additional questions our way as you finalize the details of your special vacation, Stacy!

    Wishing you a magical voyage,
    Amy
