Happy Holidays, Debbie! Christmas is one of the most magical times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Twinkling lights, festive decor and the spirit of the season keep us coming back year after year.
There's no official word on when the Christmas decorations will come down, but I can share my experience with you. Last year, we visited the Magic Kingdom Park for my birthday, around the second week of January. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Park was still decked out in its holiday finery. In fact, the Christmas decorations remained up all the way through the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which will take place January 6-11, 2016. While there's no guarantee, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were able to experience a little taste of a Disney Christmas during your visit.
As for the holiday crowds, that post-New Year's weekend may still be fairly busy. I did notice that the blockout dates for some Florida Resident Annual Passes will end on January 2, so there may be an influx of locals hoping to catch some of the Christmas spirit, too. You might consider checking one of the online crowd calendars like easywdw.com to get a sense of what you might expect.
