Hi there, Ron!My family has also booked an upcoming Disney cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in conjunction with a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Individual preferences and travel plans may vary for different travelers. But I'm happy to share with you my family's plan for what we believe will work best for us.
Our family also had a comparable itinerary when we drove a one-way rental car to the Disneyland Resort before sailing on the Disney Magic out of San Diego. We dropped off the rental car at the San Diego International Airport (SAN) and waited in the airport baggage claim area with fellow cruisers before our motorcoach took us and our luggage to the nearby cruise port. It was incredibly smooth and convenient. We especially liked how it was paired with another airport transfer at the port of Galveston after our Panama Canal cruise to make our journey back home as seamless as possible. To book airport transfers, you may contact the Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent. They would be happy to work out the best possible combination of travel arrangements for you and your party. Alternatively, you may also check with your rental car company to see if they happen to be one of the handful of companies that may provide services at Port Everglades or shuttle service from the airport.Whichever way you go, I'm confident you will have a magical time at both Disney World and aboard the Disney Destiny. As you continue to make plans for your land and sea vacation, I hope you'll stop by planDisney again for any more advice and recommendations you may need.Bon voyage, Ron!~Tony
