Hi Melissa! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
Choosing where we'd like to dine is one of my favorite parts of planning for a Disneyland Resort vacation. Your vacation is right around the corner, so let me help you get started on finding the perfect spots to eat! I can walk you through the process and offer some recommendations.
First, my suggestion is to download the
Disneyland mobile app. It's going to be super helpful during your vacation, but it's also a great planning tool. On the app, pull up the map, and at the top of the page where it says "Attractions," click the down arrow and select "Dining." This will bring up all the dining locations in Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney District, and the Disneyland Resort Hotels. This can help you plan out where you'll be on each day of your visit and where you might want to dine.
Some locations are Quick Service, which means you won't need a reservation. When you click on a Quick Service location on the map, you'll be able to see whether they offer
Mobile Ordering, which allows you to select a time to pick up your meal, avoiding the lines. I like to place our Mobile Orders while we're in the queue for an attraction. You'll also be able to view the menu to see if the choices appeal to you or your family. There are Quick Service locations catering to everyone's taste. Some of my favorite locations are Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland in Disneyland Park and Cocina Cuamonga Mexican Grill in the newly reimagined
San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure Park.
Other locations accept
reservations and it's best to have those in place prior to arriving at the parks. The window for reserving your dining is 60 days, so you're already within your window and can book your preferred dining locations as soon as you're ready. If you don't have a reservation when you arrive, you can still use the Disneyland mobile app to reserve dining if there are openings or join the Walk-Up List.
To see what dining is available for your preferred day and time, navigate to "Things to Do" at the top of the Disneyland Resort page. "Dining" will be the first choice when you hover over the menu. Click on "Make Reservations." You'll be asked how many Guests are in your party, the day you'd like to search, and the time. For a really elegant meal, my top choice is Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square is an iconic and immersive dining experience in Disneyland Park, where you will dine in perpetual twilight as boats float by you. For a Character Dining Experience, try Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel.
You'll be arriving during
Halloween Time. It's the best time of year. And among all the festive offerings, you'll find lots of festive treats! Check out the
Disney Eats blog for all the official updates on what spooky yumminess you can expect to enjoy during your visit. I'd be ready with my must-eat list before I arrived to be sure I didn't miss a single bite.
Have a hauntingly good time!
Elizabeth
