    Brina from TX Asked

Since the Disney Dining Plans are currently suspended, would it be possible to add a dining plan to a trip that you've already booked when they become available again?

Hello and welcome, Brina. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney to chit chat about the Disney Dining Plan

The Disney Dining Plan is wildly popular and everyone, including myself, is wondering about when it will return. The good news is that just last week the Disney Parks Blog announced that the Disney Dining Plan will indeed return. However, the bad news is they still aren't sure of a returning date. But that's okay, at least we know it is coming back. Because there weren't a lot of other details released, I'm not exactly sure what the details will be surrounding the new plans that are released. What I can say is that if it looks anything like it did before, you will absolutely be able to add it on to your existing vacation package. Before the shutdown last year, Guests were able to add the Disney Dining Plan up to 48 hours prior to their check-in date. I am certain it will be similar to this again.

Brina, another great idea that sort of mimics the Disney Dining Plan is to start purchasing Disney Gift Cards and set them aside for food and beverages for your trip. I like doing this because it is budgeted and paid for ahead of time. I grab a lower dollar amount Disney Gift Card oftentimes when I am at the grocery store. It doesn't add that much to my grocery bill and I'm always surprised at how quickly they can add up. Disney Gift Cards can be used at almost every dining location at Walt Disney World.

I'm sorry I don't have more information for you at this time. Be sure to keep an eye out over on the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements that may be made about the Disney Dining Plan. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
