Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Constance!
I read your question to my husband and he sighed a deep, contented sigh, and said “mmmmmm, salad.” The man LOVES salad, and while I can’t imagine replacing a dessert with a salad, I totally understand that there are lots of people wanting to make that choice, for lots of reasons.
Constance, on the
2019 Disney Dining Plan, a Table-Service entitlement includes one entrée, one dessert, and one nonalcoholic beverage (Guests 21 and older may choose from select alcoholic beverages). Substitutions, such as replacing the dessert with a salad, are at the discretion of the Cast Member serving you and the restaurant. In my experience, it’s absolutely worth asking, but be prepared that not all restaurants will allow substitutions. My husband was able to switch his dessert for a salad in some Table-Service locations, but not everywhere. Also, keep in mind that the value of a dessert is usually higher than the value of a side salad. If a substitution is not allowed, you should be able to order a salad and pay for it out of pocket if you’d like to do that.
I hope you enjoy all the meals, drinks, desserts, and snacks that come with the Disney Dining Plan on your upcoming visit! I see you are counting down the weeks until your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I’m so excited for you. Be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog as you get ready for your visit, as they share news and planning tips to make your trip extra-magical. I love reading about
all the treats and snacks available around the theme parks, resorts and Disney Springs – that way, I can use my snack entitlements on some new things, while making sure I can still enjoy all my favorites (I’m looking at you,
Dole Whip).
Enjoy every minute of your
autumn visit to Walt Disney World, Constance!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
