We have the Disney dining plan one of which is on the child menu. Do they get a dessert in addition to their meal like the adults or does it have to be one of their two selections? One of the selections is always a cupcake so I'm confused

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kathy! I'm so excited for your family that you're about to take off for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation tomorrow! With your trip just a few hours away it's a great time to think about some of those final details, like what you're going to eat while your there, so let's have a look at what your options will be when you're dining this week.

One of my favorite parts of any vacation is the food and that's why my family often takes advantage of the Disney Dining Plan. I love the ease and convenience of having all of my meals taken care of in advance and it's always thrilling for me to think about using those Table-Service, Quick-Service, and Snack credits to indulge in some world-class dining. You seem to be familiar with a lot of the details of the Dining Plan, like knowing that your Table-Service meal credit will get you a dessert in addition to your entrée. This is true for adults as well as children! At most Table-Service restaurants, kids will have their own menu to choose from with meals that will please even the pickiest little palate. Your kids will need to order their desserts from the kids' menu too and the selection will vary from location to location with most places offering classic favorites like cupcakes, brownies, and ice cream. If your child doesn't like any desserts on the menu you can ask the Cast Member serving you if any substitutions are available but, as a general rule, kids on the Dining Plan must order from the kids' menu if there is one available.

Did you see that the list of restaurants participating in the Disney Dining Plan was just updated to include information for 2020? Double-check the list before you leave and if you want to modify anything, you can make changes quickly and easily using the My Disney Experience app up to 24 hours in advance of each reservation.

Have a magical day, Kathy, and have so much fun on your vacation this week!
