For the Disney dining plan my oldest will be under the adult section but does she have to order off the adult menu? She’s autistic which makes eating a challenge but I know she’ll eat certain things only offered on the kids menu.

    Hi Ashley!

I'm so excited to help you get ready for your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The Disney Dining Plan will be a great addition to your trip because you will be able to enjoy so many incredible dining experiences without having to worry about the cost of each individual meal.

We have always found the Chefs and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants are incredibly accommodating of special diets and preferences. While it is always subject to the restaurant's discretion, in general, you will find that your daughter will be able to order meals from the kids' portion of the menu. Simply let your server know of her specific preferences and they should be able to accommodate her with a meal that she will enjoy. I have a friend who I travel with who often prefers options from that section of the menu and generally, table service restaurants will give her an adult portion of these offerings when redeeming her adult dining entitlements.

If you are visiting any buffet-style restaurants during your trip, your entire family will be able to enjoy options from both the regular section and the kids' section of the buffet. In fact, some of my favorite buffet items are from the kids' section, such as macaroni and cheese and corn dog nuggets!

Be sure to come back to see us if you have any additional questions as you continue planning your trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
