Is the Disney Dining Plan expected to return this year?

Hey there, Kerri! Thanks for dropping by with your question.

Kerri, here at planDisney we are a group of people who love sharing our knowledge of planning amazing vacations to Disney destinations. If you need a restaurant recommendation - I've got you covered. Want to know the best hotel to stay at that fits your budget, I'm your girl! However, because we are regular Guests, we aren't privy to the behind-the-scenes information like when the Disney Dining Plan might return. I've been keeping an eye out over on the Disney Parks Blog for updates. When information about the Disney Dining Plan is released, that's going to be where we can find out all of the information.

If the Disney Dining Plan does come back this year and you've already booked a vacation package, no worries. You'll be able to add it on to your existing reservation at a later date. Previously, Guests had up to 48 hours prior to their vacation to add it and I expect it to look similar to this in the future.

In the meantime, a great way to budget for food during your vacation is to use Disney Gift Cards. This is similar to the Disney Dining Plan because it's paid for ahead of time and has to be used for something at Walt Disney World. I like to add a Disney Gift Card to my grocery cart every now and then. It doesn't add a lot to my bill but I am always so surprised at how quickly they can add up. If you start doing this now, you'll be so pleased with how much you've saved up for dining come December.

I'm sorry I don't have more of an update for you at this time, Kerri. If you have more questions as you plan your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'd love to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
