I have the disney dining plan currently included in my pkg. My son is 9 and I was wondering if I could upgrade him to the adult plan and how much it would cost?

Hi, Donna! You're going to love the Disney Dining Plan...it's one of those details that helps make a mom's vacation fun, too -- since you're not thinking about how everyone is going to get fed. I think that you'll be able to upgrade your son's DDP to an adult package. However, the cost will depend on which DDP you have chosen.  In addition, I'm not sure how that will effect his park tickets, too. Therefore, to get the most accurate and up-to-date information, you'll need to consult a Disney travel expert at 407-WDISNEY. Just make sure that you call in advance of three days prior to your arrival to make the necessary changes to your reservation.

If you think that your son is not going to get full from the kids' meals at restaurants or that his palate is more adventuresome, I understand your thinking. However, since this is the last year that he'll be considered at child at WDW, I personally would take the risk and do some creative ordering at restaurants. When some of my children have had voracious appetites, I've actually eaten the kids' meal and allowed them to enjoy my adult entree -- especially at quick-service restaurants. In addition, at a la carte table-service meals, you can order him an adult entree and have that adult credit taken from your family's plans, and of course, buffets don't matter. In fact, we prefer to book buffet meals on the DDP since we have such a large family with varied tastes. I know that we can all get "tanked up!" Maybe this will help with your planning.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
