Should I get the Disney Dining Plan for 2 adults and 2 children? We eat 3 meals per day and 1 snack so would we have to pay out of pocket for breakfast? Or can we get away with using 2 credits for 4 people for breakfast and same for lunch?

Hello there May! Thank you for bringing your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Each and every time my family visits Walt Disney World Resort, we always add a Disney Dining Plan to our stay! Currently there are 4 different Disney Dining Plans to choose from; Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan Plus, and Disney Deluxe Dining Plan.

When we visit, we usually find that the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is plenty for us. We too typically eat 3 meals a day and we like to be “on-the-go” so eating our meals at a Quick-Service location is perfect for us. What we have done in the past is we usually pack quick and easy breakfast options to enjoy in the on-the-go. This allows us to save our meal entitlements for lunch and dinner. In our luggage I usually bring a box of cereal and instant oatmeal cups. We also use any “extra” entitlements, we may have from the previous day, for breakfast! When there are left over snack entitlements, one of us will use that on a breakfast pastry or any other breakfast style snack.

Sometimes, we even have extra meal entitlements left from our arrival date.We typically check in around dinner time, after a day of traveling, and only use 1 meal entitlement per person on our check in date. I have also noticed that since we usually arrive in the evening, we don’t use the 2 snack entitlements included on our arrival date either. So we just carry those over to help with breakfast on our first full day!

If you much rather not pack any food or have to worry about having left over entitlements, I highly recommend the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan! This Disney Dining Plan allows each person to enjoy 3 meal entitlements per person, per night of stay and can be used at both Quick-Service locations and Table-Service locations. (Tip: Be sure to make dining reservations for any Table-Service restaurant you wish to enjoy).

No matter which Disney Dining Plan you and your family choose, there will be plenty to eat and enjoy! I absolutely love being on a Disney Dining Plan. It has become a must for my family anytime we visit!

    Bon Appétit!
