Character Dining at Riveria

    So Disney dining experience has been unvlble at this time or mostly forbidden access. So how would you recommend I make reservations? I was able to get to that if I knew what the restaurant was called I could search and 3 of 50 were available

    Hiya Adrianne - welcome to planDisney!

    I'm so glad you stopped by to ask a question about one of my absolute favorite things - food! I love attractions, characters, and lounging by the pool as much as the next Mouseketeer, but eating is definitely my priority during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

    To make sure I'm understanding and answering your question fully, let's talk through a few different aspects of dining! If by "dining experience" you are referring to Disney Dining Plans, which allow you to pre-pay for your dining experiences as part of your vacation package, I'm sorry to report that they are currently unavailable. That being said, all of us at planDisney are hopeful that these Guest-favorite plans will return soon!

    To make Advance Dining Reservations, you can use either the My Disney Experience Mobile App, or book online through your My Disney Experience Account. On the mobile app, simply tap the plus "+" icon on the bottom of your screen and select Check Dining Availability. You'll then enter your party size and date, and have the option to select a time. I suggest using the hour-specific options rather than the broader "Breakfast" or "Dinner" searches. You can also use the search function by tapping the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your screen to search for specific restaurants. You'll see a Reserve Dining button that will search only for reservation availability at that specific location.

    It sounds like you may be experiencing some Stitch glitches if you're seeing "forbidden access" messages. You may want to log out and back in to your My Disney Experience Account, clear your cache and cookies, or try accessing the dining system using a different browser. If you are still experiencing difficulties, you can also speak to a Cast Member for assistance.

    One last tip - keep checking for reservations closer to your trip! Other Guests' plans change all the time, and when they do, those cancelations mean new dining availability opens up. For example, on my trip last week I was able to score a coveted character breakfast reservation at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera! It was phenomenal and a great surprise addition to our day.
