Hi Marcy!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
I'm so happy to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation around Thanksgiving. One of the things my family is most thankful for is the time we spend together on our Disney vacations. Your family will certainly be making magical memories to last a lifetime!
Walt Disney World Resort will begin
decorating for the holidays right after Halloween. The jack-o-lanterns will come down and make way for Christmas garland, holiday lights and more! All four Walt Disney World theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park) get in on the fun, with themed decorations throughout. You'll also find holiday decorations in all of the resort hotels, including some of the most amazing gingerbread houses and Christmas trees I've ever seen!
You can expect most of Walt Disney World Resort to be decked out for the holidays by the evening of the first
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which, this year, falls on November 9th. This fun special event is held at Magic Kingdom Park on select nights and features live entertainment, special Character Greetings, holiday fireworks and the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (featuring my favorite, the marching toy soldiers!). I encourage you to attend if it fits into your vacation schedule - it's a festive fun time!
I hope this helps with your planning - please let us know if you have any more questions before your vacation - we're happy to help! - Diane W.
