We will be at Disney Dec 18-22. We have a 3 1/2 yr old & a 20 month old in our group. Is there a pass for the adult that sits out a ride to stay with the smaller one that aren't tall enough for a ride? How does that work?

    Hey Donna!

A warm welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you for sending us your magical question in advance of your quickly approaching vacation. You will love visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays!

Donna, the service you are thinking about is Rider Switch — and as the mom of two young Mouseketeers, it is one of my favorite services at Walt Disney World Resort! Rider Switch allows adult Guests to wait with a child or adult unwilling or unable to ride a Walt Disney World Resort attraction and then board the same attraction without having to wait in line again. In other words, Rider Switch allows adult Guests to “take turns” while waiting with little ones.

Disney Mom Tip: You can find the full list of attractions offering Rider Switch on the Rider Switch service page.

To use Rider Switch please follow these steps:

    1. Check with a Cast Member to see if Rider Switch is offered at the attraction of your choice.
Approach the greeting Cast Member with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guests who are not riding will be given a Ride Switch pass and asked to wait in a designated area. This group is “Party 2.”

    2. The other party members (“Party 1”) ride the attraction.

    3. After riding the attraction, Party 1 gives Party 2 the Rider Switch pass to the adult member who will be riding.

    4. Party 1 takes over supervision of the non-riding Guests.

    5. Party 2 enters and boards the attraction without having to wait in the standby queue a second time. It is that simple!

Donna, I hope I have helped answer your questions. If you have any other questions please visit us again. We are all ears!

    Happy Planning,
