We are going to Disney Dec. 5th traveling with our 4 year old. We are staying at All Stars Movie and we are on a budget. Are there places to eat close to the resort other than Disney?

    Judy:

When my husband and I went to Disney in October for the Food & Wine half-marathon, we stayed off-property in the Lake Buena Vista area right outside Downtown Disney.  We were less than 15 minutes from the parks but had access to lots of restaurants, including fast-food chains, that kept us on budget.

I see you're from Florida, so I'm assuming you'll have a car for your vacation. Because you'll be traveling at a slower time of the year for crowds, you shouldn't have any trouble leaving the resort property in a timely fashion to locate a place to eat where you're familiar with the menu and the impact it'll have on your budget. You'll be staying on the other side of the resort from where we stayed (about 15 minutes) near the Kissimmee area where restaurants like Bob Evans, Golden Corral and Shoney's will be closer than the Magic Kingdom, quite frankly. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a place that fits your budget.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
