We're going to Disney for my daughter's birthday. Her grandma wants to give her some money to use at the parks. Can Grandma put an amount on her magic band to use at the stores? It would be easier than cash or gift cards. THANK YOU!

    Hi Danielle,

Thanks so much for your great question! My son is already saving his birthday money for our next trip so he can buy himself something special.

MagicBands do not carry financial information. What they do is charge food and merchandise purchases to the Disney Resort hotel room to which they are linked. This means you won't be able to add a specific gift card to your daughter's MagicBand. However, you may give her charging privileges and set a spending limit for her as long as you have a credit card on file with your Disney Resort hotel.

When you are ready, you may pay the balance with a gift card, credit card or cash at the Front Desk of your hotel or it will be charged to the credit card on file. When you check-in to your Disney Resort hotel, just let the Cast Member know you would like to give your daughter charging privileges and he or she will walk you through the whole process.

I hope you have a magical vacation, Danielle! Please feel free to stop back by with any other questions.

    Happy planning,

    Andrea U.
