Ahoy, Jessica - welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for swimming by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Disney adventures. It's an especially magical time to plan a
Disney Cruise Line sailing as we celebrate the
Silver Anniversary at Sea!
I've been sailing with Disney Cruise Lines for some time, and it's been a while since I've seen formalwear rental options. When I spoke to a Cast Member about this, I was informed that some ships may have items available for emergencies, but that it's not a standard offering. Jessica, one reason for this is that
the dress code for dining onboard has recently been relaxed. This includes the adult-exclusive restaurants where formal attire is no longer
required. For example, the current dress code policy at
Palo notes that:
Guests are requested to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s atmosphere. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended. Dress casual attire with a polished look is permitted.I can verify that on my last two sailings, there was a bit less formality, both in the rotational dining restaurants and the adult-exclusive dining locations. Anecdotally, prior to the updated dress code, I was offered a pair of trousers to wear at
Remy. Mine had been stained the day before, and I had only packed shorts otherwise. So, long story short, if you'd like to enjoy a night of formality, I highly recommend it - you'll just want to bring your own attire to do so.
Bon voyage!
