Hello, Kristin! Thanks for visiting planDisney before you head out to sea. Welcome!
I understand the need to get your little one to sleep as close to bedtime as possible, especially with
all of the fun that is to be had during your vacation! Your dining team will want to help you make that possible, and I do think that your time in the dining room can take less than an hour if you communicate from the beginning that that is your goal.
I recommend that you arrive a few minutes early to be among the first seated at dinner. Speak to your server and assistant server about your bedtime goal and they will figure out a plan to accommodate you. I'm not sure if it's common, but one evening my daughter was getting so tired that I had to leave the dining room before dessert to put her to bed. I was so surprised when my husband arrived back at the stateroom with an extra dessert for me, to go. Maybe you can do the same and enjoy dessert in the stateroom while your son slumbers.
Kristin, it's also possible to request to be placed on the waitlist for the main dinner seating if that is your preference. You can check once onboard to see if there is availability to switch your dining time. There will be a designated time and place onboard on the day of embarkation to make dining requests. I suggest that you check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app after you board the ship to find this information and aim to be at the lounge or restaurant where the "Dining Reservation Changes" takes place just a few minutes early to be among the first to be helped.
Also, please remember that while the main dining restaurants are a wonderful place to dine, you can always opt to enjoy the quick service locations near the pool or even order
room service if you find you need to skip the late meal. You have options!
However you dine, I'm wishing you a Disney Cruise filled with delicious dishes and spectacular memories. Thank you again for visiting planDisney as you prepare for your sailing. Cruise back to us anytime!
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
