Hi, Taylor!
Thanks for sailing over to planDisney with your
Disney Cruise Line question. It sounds like you are beginning to plan adventures for your cruise. That means you must be close to your sail date so let the countdown to sail away begin!
If you try to book a
Port Adventure or onboard activity and it reads "check availability onboard" it probably means that it is currently at capacity. However, this does not mean you are out of luck on your choice. Sometimes additional spaces will open, guests will cancel, or simply some pixie dust flies your way and you are able to snag that cabana on
Castaway Cay or a spot in a Mixology class. Keep checking online until 3 days prior to your cruise as you will frequently see changes in availability.
Sometimes, however, that magic does not strike prior to your cruise in which case you can absolutely check once you board your ship for availability for your chosen activities. For spa appointments, head to
Senses Spa & Salon, for Port Adventures, stop by the Port Adventures desk, and for onboard
Beverage Tastings or other classes, stop by Guest Services. Make this your first stop and ask for availability or to be added to any waitlists.
Take a close look at your options when booking any extras for your cruise. Perhaps there is a similar Port Adventure, or another time that is available. When my family sailed to Alaska, our first choice of a whale watching adventure was not available, but we found one that was very similar and we booked that and it was wonderful.
You will definitely want to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App so you can keep checking pre-cruise and once onboard for all the magical activities. There is so much to choose from you are going to have a very exciting cruise!
Taylor, I hope you are able to book all your first choices of cruise adventures but if not, almost anything you choose will be magical. If there is anything specific you are looking for, stop back so our planDisney team can guide you to an activity that we think will be enjoyable for your entire family.
We look forward to seeing you onboard real soon! Bon Voyage!
Cathy
