Hi there, Mike!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting is it to say that you are going on a Disney Cruise THIS month!?!? Since you have cruised with Captain Mickey previously, you know how much fun awaits you onboard, but let me tell you…you will love
Castaway Cay! It’s one of my family’s favorite beach destinations and we always look forward to our day there…and the delicious lunch at Cookie’s BBQ, complete with huge chocolate chip cookies for dessert!
When you visit Castaway Cay, you do not need anything besides your Key to the World card to make purchases on the island. Adults are asked to bring a photo identification for security when you get back on the ship at the end of your day, but children are not required to bring photo identification. Did you know that your Key to the World card has lots of useful information on it, including being marked with either an “A” or an “M” which identifies if the Guest is an adult or a minor which Cast Members will verify when ordering from one of the onboard (or on island) bars.
There is so much to see and do on Castaway Cay and I recommend seeing it all! You can certainly walk to the observation tower or rent bicycles, or you may even want to consider participating in the Castaway Cay 5K! Guests can register for the Castaway Cay 5K at Guest Services once onboard and the course goes all over the island giving you a chance to see different areas! Guests can run or walk, and all participants receive a finishers medal at the finish line which is a wonderful souvinEAR to take home with you!
Your countdown is ON and I am so excited for you! Be sure to eat a chocolate chip cookie for me!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
