I am going on a Disney Cruise soon. I have a Disney Gift Card in disneygiftcard.com. How can I put it into my Apple wallet? I saw instructions on your web site, but I do not have a link for the apple wallet in my original email. Need link from your site.

    Hello, Suzanne,

Great question. I've found it convenient to store some of our Disney Gift Cards in my Apple Wallet. I've added a few Disney Gift Card eGifts that we have purchased directly from the Disney Store. When eGifts arrive in our inbox from the Disney Store, they include the barcode as well as the eGift account numbers to allow us to redeem the gift card funds directly from the email. There are also links to "Add to Apple Wallet" and "Add to Google Wallet" which allow the eGift card to be conveniently stored in my phone's digital wallet.

Some third-party Disney Gift Card eGift sellers aren't fully integrated into the systems that allow for adding eGifts to digital wallets. To accommodate cases like those, I have purchased a small-value eGift directly from the Disney Store's online shop, added that eGift to my phone's mobile wallet, and then used the Disney Gift Card website to transfer funds from a gift card purchased elsewhere to the eGift in my mobile wallet. Each Disney Gift Card, whether physical or digital, can have up to $1000 stored on it. Redeeming Disney Gift Cards at point-of-sale locations is normally done by optically scanning the barcode displayed on your phone's screen. Tap to pay (known as NFC) is not an option for Disney Gift Cards. So a simple alternative to adding an eGift to your digital wallet is to take a screenshot of the barcode for your Disney Gift Card eGift. That image could be stored in a pinned note in your phone's notebook application or saved to a favorites album in your photos application for easier recall during a purchase.

I think Disney Gift Cards are a great way to save up for Disney cruise vacation. That's how we have paid for nearly all of the cruises we have taken. We have used the gift cards to pay for our cruise fare ahead of debarkation as well as for gratuities, Port Adventures, souvenirs (including purchases onboard and on both Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and Disney Castaway Cay), and more.

Tony's Tip: I also store the account numbers and EAN security code numbers of my active Disney Gift Cards in a note on my phone. That makes it easy to quickly copy the numbers to use for mobile food and beverage orders or Merchandise Mobile Checkout using either the Disneyland mobile app or the My Disney Experience App when we are visiting the theme parks during a land and sea vacation adventure.

Thanks for your excellent question, Suzanne. If you have any more planning questions, I hope you'll visit us again here at planDisney.

    Bon voyage, Suzanne!
