Going on Disney cruise with a shy 5 year old. Are parents allowed in oceaneers club to stay and play (or watch) for a long time, or just drop off? It looks so much fun. Do we have to book prior to cruise or can we just register on embarkation day?

    Hi Nicole,

You're right...Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are tremendous fun!  Take advantage of Open House on the day you arrive.  You can explore the clubs with your child and help your 5 year old become familiar with the counselors and the location.  Tell the counselors what your concern is during that time.   They are excellent at getting the kids comfortable and geared up for the fun!

Parents usually drop off, or drop by to check on their kids, but I will tell you that there are times throughout the voyage when Family Time is scheduled at these youth clubs.  It's a great way for parents and grandparents to have a chance to play with their kids, and get to know the counselors and the club activities.  No formal activities are scheduled for this time.  Please look at the Personal Navigator, the ship's daily newsletter, for specific times.

I hope this helps Nicole.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Have a wonderful trip!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
