I have a 2 & a 5 yo. Going on our 1st Disney Cruise in September. My 2 yo will be almost 3. Im concerned they will split them up when taken to the play room, as i see age groups are 6mo-3 & 3-10. Will they allow him to stay with his brother?

    Ahoy there, Cristina!

Welcome aboard planDisney! September will be here faster than you can say “Bon Voyage!” and I just know that when your family steps onto that gorgeous Disney ship, you’ll be making memories before you can even finish your first slice of pepperoni pizza at Cabanas (or Marceline Market)!

Now let’s get into your question—and I’m going to be real with you like Crush giving turtle wisdom. When it comes to youth spaces onboard, Disney has pretty clear guidelines. The “it’s a small world” nursery! is for kiddos ages 6 months to 3 years, while the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are for Guests ages 3 to 10 (and fully potty trained)—and unfortunately, they don’t allow for exceptions, even if your little one is just days away from turning 3. Believe me, I know it’s hard when siblings want to be together—especially on such an exciting adventure!

But here’s the good news: your almost-3-year-old won’t be missing out. The nursery is staffed with the most caring and amazing Cast Members who know exactly how to make tiny cruisers feel like they’re part of the magic. From toys and crafts to Disney Junior fun, the little ones are in good hands. And as a parent who has sailed with young Mouseketeers myself, I know how comforting that peace of mind can be.

For your 5-year-old, the Oceaneer Club and Lab are practically a dream come true—whether they’re navigating the Millennium Falcon, hanging out in Andy’s Room, or crafting with their favorite Disney pals, there’s magic around every corner.

Now, here’s where things get a little more hakuna matata! During your cruise, check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for scheduled Open House hours in the Oceaneer Club and Lab. During these times, the whole family—yes, even your not-quite-three-year-old—can enter the spaces together and explore all the fun. You’ll need to stay with them during Open House (as it’s not drop-off time), but it’s a perfect chance for siblings to play together, explore the different areas, and share in that Disney magic.

And don’t forget—there’s so much more around the ship where your kids can laugh, splash, and play together! From splash zones like Nemo’s Reef on the Dream and Fantasy, to Toy Story Splash Zone on the Wish, they’ll have a blast cooling off and burning off all that excitement. Plus, the deck parties, character meet and greets, and even movies under the stars are all great ways to enjoy the ship as a family.

No matter what, your cruise is going to be sprinkled with pixie dust and filled with unforgettable moments—even if they happen in different parts of the ship from time to time.

Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
    Dustin
