Arrrrrgh, matey! Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Douglas! Oops...
ER- I mean, welcome to planDisney where we are more excited to talk about
Disney Cruise Line than Jack Sparrow is to wear his Captain's hat.
Douglas, I'm so excited to answer your question as
room service aboard Disney Cruise Line is a favorite topic in my house! On our family's first sailing on the
Disney Wonder, my youngest son, at age eight, realized that he could order room service 24 hours a day (except for the final night of your sailing when it closes at 1:00 am)... and did! I woke up to a knock on the door, a platter of chicken fingers, and a little Mouseketeer who was very proud that he called for a snack. Whether a late-night Mickey premium ice cream bar is calling your name or maybe french fries after a mid-day nap, I hope you can take advantage of this service.
Now, I'm happy to share that there are a few ways to tip for room service delivery. You may use cash, and that's what my family has done. We planned in advance to keep cash with us for these instances. The other option is to write in a gratuity on your Room Service receipt and it will be charged to your onboard credit account. As far as the amount, it is at your discretion. I did my best to estimate what I thought the food we were requesting might cost and tip accordingly. I will share that if you order soda or alcoholic beverages, those items
are not complimentary and you will see charges pop up on your onboard ship account with an automatic 15% gratuity included.
Douglas, I hope this helps as you're looking ahead to your next sailing and if you have any additional questions, come on back to planDisney. My fellow scallywags and I are always happy to help steer your ship in the right direction.
