Ahoy, Eric!
We're so glad you charted a course to planDisney. While a Disney Cruise Line sailing is one of my favorite ways to vacation, I know that life's metaphorical rough waters and stormy skies can derail even the most carefully made plans. I had to cancel one of my family's itineraries a few years back, so I'm happy to navigate you through the policy and process.
Deposits are typically fully refundable to the original form of payment, except for stateroom categories with restrictions. "Reservations for Inside, Outside, or Verandah Categories with Restrictions are considered nonrefundable and nontransferrable." If you've booked a standard reservation that did not include a Guaranteed or Restricted stateroom, you should receive a refund according to the cancellation schedule, which depends on the length of sailing and how many days before embarkation the cancellation was made. You can review the
full timing information under "Cruise Cancellation Fees" on this page. Keep in mind that Suites and Concierge staterooms have different timing than standard staterooms.
If you need to shift your sail date, you can also
modify your reservation online in most cases. Note that if you booked using a
Placeholder Reservation, your Disney Vacation Club Membership, or with a Travel Agent, restrictions may apply. Any deposit paid should apply to the new reservation, but you may be responsible for an additional deposit if your new itinerary is more expensive or the final balance is due sooner than your initial sailing.
Eric, I hope this helps. If you have additional questions or concerns, please sail right back and let us know. You can also
reach out to a Disney Cruise Line Crew Member by phone for personalized assistance and support.
Bon Voyage!
Amy
