We have a Disney cruise planned for May and due to the limited power ports my husband is wondering if he can bring his power station charging bank? It’s the brand by Predator.

Ahoy there, Maelis. Your springtime cruise will be here before you know it, so I’m glad you stopped by planDisney with your question about staying plugged in and powered up!

My kids are young adults now, so I understand the importance of making sure all your family’s devices are fully charged. While you cannot bring extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors on the ship, it is OK to pack a USB charging hub. When it comes to charging banks, there is not a specific prohibition for that type of item. However, I checked with a helpful Disney Cruise Cast Member who informed me it may be considered an electrical device. If you do decide to bring it and it is taken at the port, it would be returned to you at the end of your cruise.

Without knowing the exact model of the power bank, it’s hard to say, but you can always call Disney Cruise Line to verify as well. I’m sure you understand that Disney places the utmost priority on their Guests’ safety and they don't want anything on board that could potentially pose a fire risk. You can also reference the full list of items prohibited on a Disney Cruise.

Rest assured, the staterooms have a multitude of plugs situated throughout your living space for your convenience. And because staterooms offer a combination of 110V and 220V outlets, I always pack multiple European-compatible hubs, in addition to the American models, to optimize our charging stations. This allows for each passenger in our travel party to charge their phone, DisneyBand+, and Apple Watch by the bed.

Speaking of DisneyBand+, if it’s compatible with your ship, I highly recommend purchasing one for each member of your group. Not only does it expedite embarkation and debarkation, it makes paying for souvenirs, specialty sips, and tempting treats on the ship an absolute breeze. Plus it’s rechargeable and waterproof!

I hope these recommendations have helped as you’re getting ready to fill your Adventure Book with new memories. If any other questions come “Up” before you sail away this May, don’t hesitate to fly back to us here at planDisney!

    Bon voyage,
    Sami
