Hi ! This will be our 7th Disney Cruise and normally select our room (Deluxe Family Ocean View or Verandah). This time we opted for a “guaranteed 9C Deluxe Oceanview” and I’m wondering if this was the best decision. Curious to know others’ experiences.

    Hi there, Melanie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I can “sea” that you love cruising with Captain Mickey and have secured your Gold Castaway Club status and working your way towards Platinum status!  When you realize how many Disney Cruise Line Guests are repeat Guests it’s pretty apparent that Disney Cruise Line knows how to hit the high seas!  After many voyages, I can still say that I find something new to experience each time I am onboard and look forward to three new ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet in the next few years!

I am glad you asked the question about experiences with a Guaranteed Stateroom as opposed to selecting your actual stateroom for your upcoming voyage.  My family has often booked GTY staterooms and in fact we are awaiting our assignment for our own upcoming Alaskan adventure!  I anxiously check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for a stateroom assignment as we approach the two-week countdown since from my experience that is when they are usually assigned.  From our past experiences, we have never been disappointed with the stateroom assignment because we know we are guaranteed at least the stateroom category we selected.  So, as long as you go in with an open mind that you may find yourself on a different deck or part of the ship than you are used to, then I think you will be pleased with your assigned stateroom!  Plus, this is a chance to see or experience something different onboard during this voyage!  Then, you will know if it’s something you want to do again in the future or if you’d rather select your own stateroom when you make your reservation…because you know you will be back onboard again someday!

Just remember, with so many activities, entertainment and things to see and do onboard, you likely won’t find yourself in your stateroom all that much!  And as I always say, any stateroom on the “Mickey Boat” is better than being at home!

Wishing you a magical and memorable voyage!  Don’t forget to book your next vacation or placeholder while onboard getting you even closer to Platinum status!

    Happy Sailing!
