Ahoy, Stephen! Welcome to planDisney and welcome aboard the most magical vacation at sea! Are you ready for adventure in the great, wide somewhere?
I want it more than I can tell!While a
Disney Cruise Line vacation is a chance to disconnect from daily life on shore, the need to keep all your whozits and whatzits charged seems to follow you on board. The
DisneyBand+ and the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app bring so much convenience to your cruise, but you may need to power up your devices each night while you power down.
We have successfully brought and used multi-port USB chargers for our gadgets and gizmos aplenty. Any outlet that connects anything other than a USB plug is not allowed. The list of prohibited items includes extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs and surge protectors.
If you need more outlets for traditional power plugs, you may be able to get a cruise-approved power strip from Guest Services on board. We did this on one cruise when my husband had a few extra items that needed a charge. The desk at Guest Services had a few cords, which were free to use but required a deposit that was refunded upon their return. These were available on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed to be available. It worked for us, but we've only done this once. Most cruises, a USB hub and the outlets in the stateroom have work well to cover all our charging needs.
Now, Stephen, if you are planning power outlets, I'm guessing your cruise is close on the horizon. I am so excited for you! Be sure to check out the suggested
packing list. It helps me make sure I have thought through everything. If you have any other questions as you plan your adventure, please come see us again at
